o:1085 Mobile Multimedia mit MMS (Multimedia Messaging Services) de St. Pölten, FH-StG für Telekommunikation u. Medien, Dipl.-Arb. SMS is still one of the most successful Mobile Messaging Services on the Mobile Communication Market. The industry has reacted according to this, and tries to continue the story of success of SMS with MMS. MMS not only works in the GSM network with the GPRS technology, but also in future 3G networks (UMTS), and is expected to be a pioneer in a new era of Mobile Communication. In the future it will be possible for Mobile Communication customers to send through the networks not like with the conventional SMS communication texts with a maximum of only 160 signs, but various multimedial contents. This work concentrates mainly on a technical comparison between SMS and MMS. In this context it will also be shown, which changes in the network infrastructure have to be undertaken from the network operator’s point of view. As the customer should perceive the MMS Service as a further development of the SMS model, common features in the handling will be indicated as well. Above all MMS should be fun for the Mobile customers and should offer the branch new possible applications. Therefore it will be pointed out, why MMS will have great chances to successfully prevail on the market and to increase the sales of the network operators, and it will also be shown, which barriers the branch has to cross to reach the breakthrough. 1552151 AC03611524 2017-02-10T12:14:55.916Z 44 no 46 Heinz Tomisser 2002 application/pdf 1953782 http://phaidra.fhstp.ac.at/o:1085 no yes 1 70
