Mini-Games. Customer loyalty gets more and more important for business because customers face an uncommonly high variety of product offers. The reason why customer relationship management in terms of a customer club has not turned into an important component of the marketing strategy in the video game industry is, that this branch is very young and has been and still is affected by ascending and lucrative phases. Meanwhile, it seems that the market has settled down. Therefore, it is time to link customers to the video game publishers. In this paper, the author goes further into the question of if the online customer club is an applicable way to create this connection. To assure a club’s efficiency, its goals have to be accomplished. These goals are subdivided into: company-goals, marketing-goals, club-goals and secondary objectives. The club goals consist of: establishing economical switching-barriers, creating emotional overvalue, winning new customers, increasing sales, creating a communication platform, and mining customer data. The club’s services contribute to the accomplishment of these goals, due to the fact that they are the reason for the decision to become a member. The combination of the theoretic aspects of the customer club and the empiric analysis show that online customer clubs in the video game industry need a free and open form of access. They should also be a mix of a lifestyle club and an exclusive VIP club. In doing so, the following services are essential: Information, advantages in the form of goods, a club forum, a club shop, a club magazine (also as a life-paper), club meetings, a bonus program and special features like mini game.
