HiPath Hospitality Service Center (HHSC) is a powerful hotel application developed by Siemens AG, which sets up on HiPath 3000 and 4000 communication infrastructure. It is possible to realise customers wishes and requirements easily and fast due to the flexible configuration opportunities of HHSC. Tasks as Check-In/Out, call forwarding and room status control can be done from front office effectively. The purpose of this degree dissertation is the use of HHSC and the included IT-infrastructure for more than one hotel at the same time. This principle the so-called Shared Service makes it possible that the hotels will be connected on one and the same IT-infrastructure (the Shared Service Center) in the future. The hotels can focus on their core competences and stay competitive. Especially, small and medium enterprises have the opportunity to use a modern IT-infrastructure. As the whole data of the hotels is stored in the Service Center, it is important to define suitable security aspects. Location choice and database backup and recovery, must be worked out. The reader of this document gets information which steps are necessary to lead accross an established hotel IT-infrastructure in a shared service center.
