Was wären Möglichkeiten, Konzepte für Content? The paper is about the more and more frequently used "Infoscreens" in metro stations, trams, etc. This new hybrid of information and advertising is increasingly getting filled with special infotainment (= information + entertainment) content-formats. For this new kind of media-outlet, there are new requirements, since it has no sound and has to be very short, but also great opportunities like the big potential audience. In this paper first a general overview of the special product “Infoscreen” within the Digital Signage technology is given. The emphasis is on Infoscreen Austria (a 100% subsidiary of Gewista, an advertising company). The main focus of the work is then a sample analytical comparison between the distributed programs in Vienna, Linz and Graz. How much information, advertising and other content do they contain? What are the definitions of each category? After the categories information and advertising are classified and rated, the focus of the work lays on infotainment content. What types of this content format contains the Infoscreen-program already? How well and why this content "works". The last part of the work then deepens this content issue further. What would be possibilities and concepts for content? Can you use already created content, by transforming it medium-specific, so that it is transmittable? Are there opportunities for filmmakers to produce content specifically for Infoscreen space? What are the standards and requirements for new content formats for this new medium? http://phaidra.fhstp.ac.at/o:1991 application/pdf 2378289 bytes Infoscreens Text
