Ethnic marketing is a marketing strategy that is subject to the basic idea that people, depending on their cultural affiliation and socialization, embody individual homogeneous world views. These result in divergent (consumption) needs which differ from those of the majority population. Particularly with regard to the younger generation of Austrians of Turkish origin, the question arises as to whether ethnic marketing measures are accepted by this target group, since they are socialized in Austria and are daily in touch with Austrian products and their associated values. The aim of this master thesis is to clarify the extent to which the 2nd generation of Turkish-born Austrians are a group with homogenous needs. A special focus is placed on the product halal meat. Furthermore, the acceptance of Turkish products in Austrian shops is to be clarified. By means of a method mix of qualitative and quantitative research methods, clarity can be gained. In the course of qualitative interviews with the target group it is proved that the importance of halal meat is not to be underestimated. The F2F surveys also confirm this. It could be stated that the majority of the respondents have for the most part homogeneous attitudes about halal meat. The question about the desire for more Turkish products in Austrian businesses is also largely answered with yes.
