Introduction: In geriatrics it is necessary to have the knowledge about falls, the reasons of falls, risk factors and of course how to avoid all kinds of falls. It has been proved that dance is a very suitable sport to help the elderly. Furthermore it is possible to improve all kinds of factors about the prevention of falls. The following study is a question of if there is a way that the risk factors are able to be improved with the aid of dance workout in the period of five weeks. The focus of this study is especially on balance and coordination. Methodology: By a nonequivalent – control – group – design it has been carried out a five week lasting dance workout with six people. This has been done in the way of a virtually – experimental longitudinal study. Before and after the study there has been carried out the results of following tests: Timped Up And Go Test, Berg Balance Scale and Chair Rising Test. For the statistical evaluation the program IBM SPSS Statistics 21 has been used. And the result was the p-figure of Wilcoxon Tests and U-Tests . Result: Because it was not possible to prove a significant difference among the groups one has to proceed on the assumption that all three hypothesis are „zero-hypothesis“. Conclusion: During and after the study there has been found out some possible sources of error. Due to this fact there has to be taken furthermore and more exactly studies. After those there is a possibility to answer the question if there is a way to improve all kind of factors about the prevention of falls with the aid of dance workout. http://phaidra.fhstp.ac.at/o:2775 application/pdf 1302653 bytes Text Tanzen statt Umfallen-Über die Auswirkungen eines Tanztrainings zur Sturzprophylaxe
