The focus of this work is to provide data showing the way in which the care-system supports the working with compulsive hoarders. This paper is from the standpoint that so many different professions from different organisations are dealing with this issue. Interviews were conducted with experts from the different professions. This provided the opportunity to take a deep look into all the varying experiences and standpoints. The main interest was to show the communication and cooperation between all the professionals involved and further explain the processes of dealing with these kinds of issues in reality. Additional questions of the research were to answer how the communication works at the various interfaces and opinions of professionals regarding case management and its possible positioning. In addition to the surveys with experts through interviews, files of specific cases with special focus on time and actions during operations were also researched to provide a more integrated overview. The interviewing and the examination of different files have been evaluated in two separate ways; thematic coding using Flick and document and file analysis using Wolff. The research questions have been answered with an extensive part of literature and empirical methods. The result of all the outcomes presented that some stages of the caring processes attract attention because of the cooperation between all kinds of professions. In context to the involvement of the authorities, downgraded stages of the process can be observed. For the first time, an overview of tasks and competencies of many professions involved in the work with compulsive hoarders was possible. Many experts have minimal information or visibility of what other experts are doing, which leads to an isolated approach. If more collaboration between the different professions took place there would be a more effective solution. A key success factor in achieving this is communication as the basics of good cooperation. The gap between work ethics and legal boundaries cause constant tension for the experts. It is critical to realize that complex problems need even more complex solutions. The main goal of this work, with it´s focus on the care-system of working with compulsive hoarders, was to provide data to help reduce the gap in current available research and create a picture of how professionals handle this very challenging issue. http://phaidra.fhstp.ac.at/o:3007 application/pdf 1057070 bytes Das Messie-Syndrom aus dem Blickwinkel der Hilfesysteme Text
