Internal Communication is getting more and more important in our dynamic environment. Research and indications prove, however, that this requirement is not met in an adequate way in reality. Internal communication offers high unused and unrealised potential. Professional internal communication should have the aim to contribute to an organisation’s success. Applied in a proper way, internal communication can do that indeed, as this thesis proves. With systematically and strategically planned communication with the main target audiences – employees and managers – this aim can be achieved. The complexity and the wide range of tasks requires the installation of a position or department within the organisation, that is responsible for all planned and integrated, formal and informal means of communication. The organisational form of a combine is, as far as internal communication is concerned, an additional determining factor that influences the internal communication within the whole formation and therefore has to be taken into account as well. To answer the question of what professional internal communication is and how it should be arranged, a model was developed in the course of this thesis, on the basis of which the professionalism of internal communication especially in affiliated companies can be analysed. In the case study some weak points in connection with internal communication of the ÖBB-Infrastruktur Bau AG have been detected. Some restraining determining factors, however, are given through historic development or structure of the company and therefore had to be considered as unchangeable preconditions. Additionally to these factors, demarcation disputes and deficiencies concerning the conception and strategic orientation of internal communication have been discovered. Considering the given basic conditions, a catalogue of measures for the improvement of the internal communication has been developed. http://phaidra.fhstp.ac.at/o:309 application/pdf 1985719 bytes Text Interne Kommunikation in Teilkonzernen
