The present thesis addresses multiplatform storytelling of serial fiction. Since spreaded content can potentially reach millions of online users through social media, storytelling gains relevance, not only for the advertising industry but also for story developers of the film industry. The platforms themselves have recognised this potential and as part of expansion strategies, are entering into competition with Netflix and other video streaming services in order to establish their own Snapchat Originals, Youtube Originals, Instagram TV and Facebook Watch. These are the names of the new fiction content providers, that are currently establishing themselves on the fiction 2.0 market. Hence, as a narrative technique transmedia storytelling is gaining importance and fictional components of an overall story are distributed into serveral plattforms such as Instagram, Facebook or Snapchat. Following this, this paper discusses cross-platform integration of fictional elements from horizontal dramatic compositions into social media. Within the literature research it will be discussed which narrative forms can be integrated into a new format and which strategic and creative considerations have to be made in order to bring recipients into the immersion of a storyworld. The horizontal narration and the creation of characters are most important here in order to bring authentic mass appealing figures to life on Social Media and to create an intense entertainment experience. In an empirical part, guided interviews with industry experts will be conducted. Thus, the thesis is supplemented by insights and expert opinions from digital-first storyteller Sandra Lehner, digital producer Marc Lepetit and dramatic advisor Ines Häufler. The ultimate goal of this thesis is the creation of a scientific guideline for a case study, the transmedial concept "INSTAble #nofilter". The results from literature discussions and interviews will be incorporated into this guideline and subsequently recommendations for practical implementation will be worked out.
