This master thesis regarding "The influence of social media sponsoring on the prominence and image of the sponsor in comparison to classical sponsoring measures in sport" deals with the topic of social media sponsoring in Austrian professional football, as well as its influence on the predominant sponsoring activities. In the world of professional sports, more and more companies are entering the lucrative sponsoring market, and so it is important for the brands to find new approches in order to gain advantages over its competitors through innovative and new ideas in this area. In this context, social media sponsoring offers a new alternative to connect with the desired target group, as a result of which the significance of this type of sponsorship continues to increase in Austria as well. For this reason the questions "In what form do Austrian football clubs use social media as a sponsoring platform?" And "What aspects arise with regard to effectiveness through social media sponsorship in Austrian football?" are discussed within this study. For this purpose, a mix of methods of the hermeneutic-interpretive literature analysis, a qualitative (expert interviews) and a quantitative (online questionnaire) approach was chosen to illuminate the topic from as many sides as possible. On the basis of the combined findings of the two empirical parts, the results of this elaboration can be stated that social media sponsorship already has a significant relevance within Austrian professional football and several factors such as the sympathy of the individual clubs, the success of the clubs on the pitch and the design of the postings, influence the success of social media sponsoring. However, in order to be able to define the exact efficiency of individual parameters, additional studies are needed as a consequence. http://phaidra.fhstp.ac.at/o:3415 application/pdf 2036964 bytes Der Einfluss von Social Media Sponsoring auf Bekanntheit und Image des Sponsors im Vergleich zu klassischen Sponsoringmaßnahmen im Sport Text
