The present study deals with the theory of the radical constructivism and social work. The questions are answered concerning requirements, limitations and possibilities in relation to the radical-constructivist body of thought and the social work. To this the austrian job description of the social workers is analysed concerning this specific epistemology on differentiations, common characteristics, potentials and limitations and is complemented at suitable place with adequate literature. The demands exist on one hand for social workers in the equal recognition of the reality-constructions of the customers, provided that this does not endanger the legitimate rights and interests of others, because objectivity is not possible according to the idea of radical constructivism. The second requirement is the use of procedures which help the social worker to self-reflect, because this is a quality-protecting or assuring measure. Since the reality of the customer can not be recognised by the social worker, an exact definition of the problem set must be met together with the customer to be able to plan interventions and this is the third requirement. The limitations for the social worker are that purposeful interventions are not predictable since the customer is an autopoietic system, and therefore not controllable from the outside. As a possibility the reinterpretation can be seen, the reality of 1st order cannot be changed, but by changing the meaning of the reality 2nd order a relief can be reached. Non-violent communication can be seen as another way to extend the possibilities of communication. http://phaidra.fhstp.ac.at/o:368 application/pdf 1425826 bytes Radikaler Konstruktivismus und Sozialarbeit Text
