Perspectives upon civil society engagement, volunteering and social work within the field of migration The engagement of the civil society was reinforced subject of public discussions caused by the intensified refugee movement within 2015. Many initiatives have been built spontaneous in order to supply the arriving refugees in Austria. Within a relatively short time some of the loose engagements have developed professional organisational structures. In this way they are supporting the work of inclusion concerning the field of migration until today. In total the amount of volunteering has demonstrably risen within the Austrian population. The motives for this civil society engagement derive their origin not simply from altruism. The perspectives to find alternations to your daily work, as well as being able to take lessons for something new, matter, among others, indeed. In parallel the request of the volunteers being accepted as professional actors by the professionists of social work arises. A rnapping for inquiry the status quo of the initiatives in Austria - which is annotated partly within this thesis - conducted the author towards her research interest: Which motives evoked the desire of volunteer initiatives in the field of migration to professionalize as well as having known their volunteer work as professional? The analysis of the narrative interviews with volunteer or vocational engaged persons, some of them both, within the field of migration erupts the question, in which way social profession can and should delimit itself from volunteer engagement.
